University of Blantyre Synod is a higher education institution committed to providing quality education rooted in faith and scholarship, preparing students to serve their communities with knowledge and integrity. 3. Eligibility

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 University Content

All content on the Website, including but not limited to the UBS logo, text, graphics, course materials, images, videos, design elements, and software, is the property of University of Blantyre Synod or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws of Malawi and international treaties.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works, publicly display, or exploit any content from the Website without prior written permission from the University.

6.2 Student and User Content

If you submit application materials, registration forms, or other content through the Website, you grant the University a license to use, process, and store such content for educational and administrative purposes.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all submitted content and that such content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.

7. Academic Programs and Admissions

7.1 Program Information

We strive to provide accurate information about our academic programs, including Bachelor of Arts in Theology, Bachelor of Commerce in Business Management, Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing, Bachelor of Education in Humanities, Master of Arts in Theology, ABMA Diploma Programs, and University Certificate of Education.

The University reserves the right to modify program offerings, curricula, tuition fees, and admission requirements at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify affected students of significant changes.

7.2 Applications

All applications (local and international) are subject to review and acceptance by the University. We reserve the right to deny admission for any reason, including but not limited to incomplete applications, failure to meet admission requirements, or submission of false information.

Submission of an application does not guarantee admission. Application decisions are final and at the sole discretion of the University’s admissions committee.

7.3 Tuition and Fees

Current tuition and fee information is available through the Bursar’s Office (accounts@ubs-ac.com, +265 884 436 767). All fees must be paid according to the University’s payment schedule. Failure to meet financial obligations may result in suspension of services or dismissal.

The University reserves the right to adjust tuition and fees as necessary. Students will be notified of changes in advance.

8. Student Conduct and Academic Integrity

Students are expected to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and personal conduct. This includes:

  • Honesty in all academic work and examinations
  • Respect for fellow students, faculty, and staff
  • Compliance with University policies and Malawi laws
  • Proper use of University facilities and resources

Violations of academic integrity or student conduct policies may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or expulsion.

The University’s liability for educational services is limited to the terms outlined in the student enrollment agreement and applicable regulations.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless University of Blantyre Synod, its Board, officers, faculty, staff, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of:

12. Termination

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malawi. Any legal action arising from these Terms shall be brought in the courts of Malawi with jurisdiction in Blantyre.

Academic disputes (grades, academic standing, disciplinary actions) are subject to the University’s internal grievance procedures as outlined in the Student Handbook.
